A Sweet Seabird Love Story

We’ve had the honor of planning and photographing weddings across Southern California, but few evenings have felt quite as magical as Abby and Gus’s vibrant Sangeet at The Seabird Ocean Resort & Spa in Oceanside.
From the very first meeting, we knew this celebration would be something special. Abby, a devoted doctor at UCSD, came to us through a warm referral from Milan, a past groom and colleague whose wedding we also had the pleasure of planning. Gus brought a beautiful sense of culture and family into the mix, honoring his Indian heritage with rich traditions and heartfelt moments. Their love story unfolded at The Seabird, where stunning ocean views and thoughtful details created the perfect setting for their joyful celebration.
A Golden Hour Welcome
The evening began with a sunset cocktail hour on the resort’s outdoor terrace, where guests were greeted by panoramic ocean views and the kind of golden light photographers dream of. It was a relaxed and radiant start to the evening — drinks in hand, sea breeze in the air, and the anticipation of an unforgettable night ahead.
A Sangeet Full of Soul and Style
Inside, the space came to life with color, texture, and intention. We designed every element of the Sangeet to reflect both modern elegance and meaningful tradition. Golden bells, woven garlands, and soft pampas framed the welcome sign, while tables were dressed in deep, inviting hues.
As guests mingled and explored, henna artists adorned hands with intricate designs, and the energy built toward an evening of heartfelt performances and unexpected surprises — including a choreographed dance led by Gus’s sister, Amiti, that had everyone cheering. Later in the night, live percussionists joined the dance floor, taking the celebration to a whole new level of joy. The room pulsed with music, movement, and pure happiness.
Seaside Strolls & Storytelling Moments
One of our favorite parts of any wedding day is carving out a few quiet moments for the couple to simply be together. Abby and Gus stepped away during golden hour for a peaceful beach stroll, and we captured some of our favorite portraits as the sun dipped below the horizon. The architecture and natural light at The Seabird offer the ideal canvas for these romantic moments — it’s a dream location for any photographer.
